Stop and Go Signs
If the library has a STOP sign in front, you may not enter the library. Go back to class and come back later.
If the library has a GO sign you may enter the library.

Book Check out for Primers
Primers may check out one book per week from the shelves by the reading area.
Students must return the book by the following week in order to check out a new book.

Book Check OUt for 1st - 4th Grade
Two books may be checked out per visit. Up to four books may be checked out to each student.
If one book is over due, no books may be checked out.

Book Check out 1st-4th grade
If you want a book and it's not in, you may place a request for the book.
Library orientation must be completed before students may check out books.
Only one SC award book nominee may be checked out at a time.

Care of Library Books
Handle books gently and make sure your hands are clean.
Do not bring any food or drinks in the library because these items damage books.
When waiting in line to leave with your book, hold it by your side.
Never toss or throw a book.
Turn pages carefully so pages don't tear.
Don't write with pencil or pen in a book. Don't let little brothers or sisters write or draw in a book.

To hold your place in a book, use a book mark or piece of paper. Don't fold pages down.

Come in quietly.
Listen for instruction.
When sitting in the reading area, sit with legs crossed or bent beside you.
When walking, walk slowly being careful not to bump into anyone else.
Be friendly and respectful to every student and teacher.
Use markers when looking for a book.
If you pick out a book and you are not sure where it goes, ask for help from Mrs. Stephens or Mrs. Breazeale.
The computers are used only for locating books or to conduct research for a school project.

Computers
Computers may only be used to look up books on Destiny, view LS Library Schoology, or to complete research for class assignments.
No food or drinks are to be in the library or near computers.
