Men and women had different roles. They did did different things in society and contributed to society in different ways.

  • One of the most important ways women contribute to society is by having baby's.
  • They also raise the children and take care of them.

  • Women had the same rights as men.
  • Jobs and other things were not based on gender but social class.
  • Women did the same jobs as men

THE JOBS WOMEN COULD DO

  • Manage property
  • Own property
  • Sell property
  • Sell slaves, land portable goods, servants, life stock and money

  • They could appear as a contracting person in marriages or divorces
  • They could free slaves
  • They could do adoptions
  • They also are entitled to sue

  • Men were entitled to show their sons the way of being a man
  • They would teach their sons how to do their job
  • They would also show the sons how to support a family
  • The son would follow in his footsteps

  • To protect the household
  • Some of the men's jobs were to Be in charge of temples and temple administration
  • Men would take care of the older men in their families
  • Some men did construction

  • Some men were artists for the community
  • Men could do farming
  • They could also be a scribe for a job

CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS

  • They developed one of the first writing systems, Hieroglyphics
  • They made papyrus, the reason we can still feed things they wrote
  • The temples they made has beautiful carvings
  • The artwork they drew, is very famous for being so amazing

CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS

  • Their pyramids, that being the main thing Egypt is recognized for
  • The first calendar
  • A nileometer which measured the water
  • A system of mathematics
  • Construction techniques

CULTURAL ACHIEVEMENTS

  • An effective system of medicine
  • Agriculture techniques
  • And the earliest known peace treaty
