ORIGINS AND FOLLOWERS

  • It is believed 1 million people are followers of Hiduism.
  • There is no known founder.
  • No specific time when Hinduism was introduced.

LOCATION AND GOALS

  • Most of the religion is in India.
  • Hinduism can also be found in Nepal.
  • The main goal of Hinduism is to achieve moshka.
  • Moshka is liberation in religion and a connection with God.
  • Also achieving a selfless life in which you accept karma.

Beliefs and practices

  • There are 9 main beliefs in Hinduism some of them are:
  • The universe undergoes endless cycles of creation, preservation, and dissolution.
  • There is one, all pervasive supreme who is both immanent and transcendent.
  • All life is sacred, to be loved and revered, and therefore practice amimsa, "nonjury".
  • the majority of Hindus worship deities by using devotional practices known as Bhakti.

BELIEFS AND PRACTICES

  • Devotional practice is related to the act of meditation.
  • Worship may involve literal or figurative sacrifice, known as yajna.
  • Subsisting on a vegetarian diet.
