POST HIGH SCHOOL EDUCATION

  • What colleges want in a high school student
  • Community colleges usually accept anyone with a high school degree
  • Colleges look at ACT or SAT test scores
  • Colleges usually want you to take 4 years of English
  • You should take about 3 years of Science, Social Studies and Math

COLLEGE AND CAREER READINESS

  • Thing you need to do to be ready for college
  • Explore college requirments in freshman year
  • Take challanging courses and determine college of interest in sophomore year
  • In junior year meet with college representative and visit colleges
  • Meet with your counsler to verify your on track in Senior year

CONTENT KNOWLEDGE FOR ENTERING COLLEGE

  • What you need to know for each class to get into college
  • Need to be able to wrote essays and have a vast vocabulary
  • 2 years of a foreign language
  • Use correct grammar and punctuation
  • Graph functions and solve trig equations

COURSE PLANNING INSTRUCTIONS

  • You need 66 credits to graduate
  • A chart of your graduation requirements
  • Many different options for fine arts
  • You don't need a world language to graduate but most colleges require them

  • You can choose to take AP classes
  • You get more choices in Senior year
  • There's less classes you need to take as the years go on
