LEAGE OF NATIONS

TESHEN DISPUTE 1918-1920

  • Teritorial dispute between Poland and Czechoslovakia
  • They were fighting for land that had iron, and coal
  • Both presented their case at the Paris Peace Conference
  • The land was divided evenly into two different countries

WHY IT WAS SUCCESSFUL

  • The countries agreed on the treaty
  • They stopped fighting

THE INVASION OF THE RUHR

  • Germany could not pay all the reperation because they were too high
  • Some were raw materials, so Germany's factory were unable to functiom
  • As a result, Germany's economy broke down

THE INVASION OF THE RUHR

  • There was conference because of the unpaid reperation
  • France & Belgium wanted to occupy the Rheinland
  • They wanted to do that to make the Germans pay more
  • France's and Belgium's request was not done

  • Failed delieveries of timber and coal by Germans after conference
  • France did not tolerate it any more

  • France occupy center of coal, iron, and steel production
  • 130 Germans got killed in occupation
  • Resistance and protest by Germans

  • They were pressured to do so by the British labour minister
  • The British labour minister thought reperations after the war were to high
