EARLY LIFE
- Born in Pittsburgh, PA on August 6, 1928
- Parents emigrated to America from Slovakia
- Love of art developed from constantly being sick and bedridden
- Studied commercial art at the Carnegie Institute of Technology
- Also received a BA in pictorial design
CAREER
- Founded Interview magazine in the 70's
- Central figure in the Factory
- Most iconic artist of the pop art movement
- Published several books
- Managed many galleries
One idea he expressed in a book was, "Making money is art, and working is art and good business is the best art."
