PRESENTATION OUTLINE
NEWTONS FIRST LAW
An object at rest remains at rest and an object in motion remains in motion unless acted an outside force.
The pins remain at rest unless acted on by the bowling ball.
The golf ball will remain at rest unless the force of the golf club moves it.
The football will remain at rest unless acted on by the force of your foot/arm kicking/throwing it.
NEWTONS SECOND LAW
-the force acting on an object equals the objects mass times it acceleration
f=ma
A small car will go a lot faster then a larger one because it has less mass.
You can walk faster carrying a skinny kid then you can a fat kid because the skinny kid has less mass.
NEWTONS THIRD LAW
For every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction.
Newtons craddle
The outside ball hitting the middle balls causes the other outside ball to react the opposite way
The action is the swimmer jumping at the end of the board and the board reacts by pushing him upwards in the air.
Bouncing a basketball. The action is throwing the basketball on the floor and the reaction is the basketball bouncing off the floor back into the air.
