My little secret

I was in the Army from 2003 to 2011. I deployed for a year at a time in 2005, 2007 and 2009. During my 2007 deployment I was blown up 5 times.

I never saw a wild thing sorry for itself. A small bird will drop frozen dead from a bough without ever having felt sorry for itself.

Wild Thing

To me that poem means no matter what, never give up, never pity yourself. As long as you live your life as you want, and to its fullest, you can die without any regret.
That is why it's my favorite poem because it helped me get through some rough times in my life.
