My name is Billie Jo and my family lives on a small farm in Oklahoma.

As I grew up my ma taught me how to play piano. It soon became my favorite activity to do.

Everyday pa would try to take care of what was left on the farm.

Ma burned to death because she accidentally poured Kerosine into the in the stove and caught on fire.

Ma died at a young age with a baby boy that pa was waiting for.

Living on the farm was hard without Ma around.

I decided that it would be better if I left the farm to go live with my aunt away from the dust bowl.
