Slide Notes

Welcome to my Curation Teaching Project for LIS 635!

For this assignment, I chose a curation and organization tool that my primary population, undergraduate students undertaking research, could easily utilize to better gather and organize their research materials. Pinterest, while extremely useful for visually organizing materials, lacks an academic slant.

The solution? ProQuest Flow! Let's get started by briefly discussing what ProQuest Flow is, followed by a step by step tutorial on how to set up the Save to Flow bookmark.

ProQuest Flow for Undergraduate Researchers
Welcome to my Curation Teaching Project for LIS 635!

For this assignment, I chose a curation and organization tool that my primary population, undergraduate students undertaking research, could easily utilize to better gather and organize their research materials. Pinterest, while extremely useful for visually organizing materials, lacks an academic slant.

The solution? ProQuest Flow! Let's get started by briefly discussing what ProQuest Flow is, followed by a step by step tutorial on how to set up the Save to Flow bookmark.

What is Flow?

  • Citation/Reference Manager
  • Cloud-Based
  • Access from anywhere!
ProQuest Flow (also known as RefWorks Flow) is a citiation manager based in the cloud, so you can access your research from a plethora of devices, be they computers, smartphones, or tablets. All you need is a network connection!

ProQuest Flow is the next generation iteration of RefWorks and you can import all of your RefWorks folders and references into your new ProQuest Flow account in a snap.

Save to Flow Bookmark Tutorial

One of the most user-friendly tools ProQuest Flow features is the "Save to Flow" button that you can easily install on your toolbar. With this link, you can automatically import references into your Flow library, edit the entry, and even save PDFs and websites to be annotated later on!
