PRESENTATION OUTLINE
Black History Month began as 'Negro History Week' in 1926.
It was started by Harvard educated historian Carter G. Woodson.
Woodson was disturbed by the lack of black figures in his history books.
Woodson choose the second week of February because it was the birth month of Abraham Lincoln and Fredrick Douglass.
Don't get excited! We're not playing a game.
