How Erosion May Cause Changes To ...

  • By Removing Rock Or Soil From The Earth's Crust
  • Removing 1/2 Part Of A Mountain During Erosion - Rocks - Wind - Water
  • Flowing Rivers, Water, Etc movement of water that causes erosion. Made by Wind and Water
  • Wind By Sand Made By Water And Wind

Question:
Which Best Helps Prevent Soil Erosion On a Slope: Plants, Rocks, Or Mulch?

Hypothesis:
I think plants would work because trees can help prevent soil from eroding.

Materials:

  • An Erosion Tray Soil Mixture Water Plants Rocks Mulch

Procedure:
Put soil in a erosion tray and make it a slope. Use a liter sized cup with a hole on a bottom suspended above the soil slope. Put water on the cup and observe how much material which is eroded. Scoop up the eroded material and weigh it. Repeat procedure with rocks on the top of the soil of the soil. Do it again with the mulch and then again with plants (or fake plants).
