TREATING THE CONQUERED LANDS
Rome conquered many lands and were practical in dealing with them
Conquered people (except slaves) were allowed to keep their religion
The only thing they owed was an annual payment and to house army
The Roman army would build a road leading back to Rome
This began the saying, "All Roads Lead To Rome."

All laws were enforced in a strict manner
No mercy was shown, no matter the commiters situation
Romans held pride in being unsentimental and brutal
Their laws were not built off of God's laws
Ex: falling asleep on duty was punishable by death
