French and British Uniforms

PRESENTATION OUTLINE

French and British uniforms were very opposite in color but had the same parts and most used the same weapons

British

  •  thick woolen tunic, dyed khaki
  • Two breast pockets for personal items and the soldiers AB64 Pay Book, 
  •  internal pocket sewn under the right flap of the lower tunic where the First Field Dressing was kept.

British Uniform

  • they had a lightweight uniform for warmer climates
  • first European army to use webbing instead of a leather belt 
  • carried a large backpack 
  • uniforms vary by rank 
  • a lot of pockets
