ISAAC NEWTON
He was born January 4, 1643, in Woolsthorpe, England.
He was the only son of Isaac Newton, who died before he was born.
He attended Kings school, University of Cambridge, & Trinity College.
Isaac reunited with his mother when he was 12.
He had 3 step siblings, due to his step father.

THE WORLD NEWS
the Great Plague made its way to Cambridge, forcing Newton to return home to study.
Newton then experienced the inspiration of gravity with the falling apple.
Newton retuned to college in 1667 and continued studies.
Newton published "Philosophia naturalis principia mathematica" in 1687.
Sadly Isaac Newto died March 31, 1727.

IMPORTANCE
He was important to the mathematical world because...
His works on physics and mathematics completed the scientific revolution of the 17th century.
He came up with newtons laws, which are the laws of motion.
He published the Philosophia naturalis principia mathematica which summarizes his research.
He is now known as the father of modern physics, b/c of all of his great accomplishments.

INTERESTING FACTS
Sir Isaac Newton was not expected to live.
His father died 3 months before Newton was born.
His dog set his laboratory on fire, ruining 20 years of research.
Newton almost became a farmer when he was 17.
Newton actually studied for a degree in law.
