ORIGIN OF THE COLD WAR
The U.S. and Britain feared the expansion of Soviet power and communism in Western Europe.
The Soviets were determined to maintain control of Eastern Europe.
It was at its peak in 1948–53 with the Berlin blockade, and the victory of the communists in the Chinese civil war
the Cuban missile crisis resulted in a weapons getting built up by both sides
The Cold War ended with the collapse of the Soviet Union in 1991.

NAME OF COLD WAR
the term was first used by Bernard Baruch during a congressional debate in 1947
The Cold War got its name because there were no bullets fired.
There was never a major war between the US and USSR
There was a half-century of military buildup, and political battles for support around the world.

ECONOMIC SYSTEM
In Communism, the community or society solely owns the resources or the means of production.
in capitalism, the resources or the means of production lies with a private owner.
For Communists, the society is above individuals.
for capitalists, individual freedom is above the state or society
capitalism is a self regulated economic system, communism is a government run economy.

The United States began to support less developing countries and even dictatorships against communism
The soviet union was angry and furious that the US was coming in their way
Debate was Basically capitalism vs communism,
took place in a model kitchen during the American national convention which was held in Moscow
