The college is named after Fay Jones. He was a member of U of A 1st graduating architecture class.He was known for his modern designs with materials native to Arkansas.

The college has a national reputation for making great architects. The students learn drawing and hand rendering which has become a lost art because of technology.

The school requires international travel and helps problems in the community with design and planning.
