George takes care of Lennie. He just wants a job because he has a dream to have his own farm just like every other man that comes through the ranch. But, he tells everyone that he is actually going to get the farm, even though he's not going to. He kills Lennie to help him avoid the pain and torture he would've went through.

Lennie travels with George, he is there for George to keep him company.

CANDY
-Main character
-His only companion is his dog which is killed later on is the book.

Candy has been working at the farm for a long time and have seen many people come and go but nothing like George and Lennie. When he hears their dream, he tries to get in on it by giving them everything. In 24 hours he gave them everything and he starts planning out everything on the farm

CROOKS
-Lives in the barn with his own room by himself.
-lives by himself because he is African American.

Crooks works at the farm and he's a leather worker and takes care of the horses. He has no one as a companion, and he's treated different because he's African American.

CURLEY'S WIFE
-Curley is his companion
-She is killed by lennie a
Nearing the end of the book.

Curleys wife is a companion of Curley who is the son of the boss of the ranch. Throughout the book she is always looking for Curley and she is always flirting with the other men at the ranch. She does this because she doesn't feel loved by her husband. She has a companion but deep down she is alone.
