Be Familiar With Online Mapping

Objective

  • Students will use the map to find a place with searching tool, zoom in/out and street view function, the tool is optional.
  • Students will find instruction how to embed an online map into their personal website and apply successfully, using online searching tool.

Procedure

  • The teacher will ask students if they ever use an online mapping tool.
  • Ask groups of student to play with some of them on the computer, such as find a city on the map, then suggest that Google Maps is the most popular online mapping tool and it's easy to use.

  • Ask students to find instructions to embed different online mapping tools into personal website.
  • Let students practice directly on their own website.

  • Each group of student is familiar with at least one online mapping tool.
  • Students can embed a map into their personal website.
