• From 1260-1269, I ventured through the Mongol lands.
• I passed through the beautiful and wondrous cities of Armenia and Persia.
• I even traveled along the famous Silk Road to get to my destination.
• Cultures I encountered were those of the Ottoman Turks and the Persians.

• As far as trade, in Tibet, I noticed that coral was in great demand.
• It fetches a high price.
• In Xian, I encountered a great landmark, a palace.
• It stands in a great plain abounding in lakes and streams of water.
• It was the King's palace and it was full of great walls & chambers.
