ANNAMESE CORDILLERA

  • It extends approximately 1,100 km (680 mi)
  • It goes through Laos, Vietnam, and a small area in northeast Cambodia
  • The highest point of the range is 2,819 m high Phou Bia
  • They now form an important tropical moist broadleaf forest

MEKONG RIVER

  • It is the world's 12th-longest river and the 7th-longest in Asia
  • Its estimated length is 4,350 km
  • From the Tibetan Plateau it runs through Myanmar, Laos, Thailand, Cambodia and Vietnam
  • It is an important trade route to many countries

GREAT BARRIER REEF, AUSTRALIA

  • It is the world's largest coral reef system
  • It is made of over 2,900 individual reefs
  • It holds over 900 islands stretching for over 1,600 miles
  • It can be seen from outer space

GREAT DIVIDING RANGE, AUSTRALIA

  • It is the third longest land-based range in the world
  • It stretches more than 2,175 miles
  • It runs the entire length of the eastern coastline of Australia
  • It's rise between the coastal lowlands and the eastern uplands has affected Australia's climate

SOUTH ISLAND, NEW ZEALAND

  • It is the larger of the two major islands
  • Has a temperate climate
  • Only 23% of New Zealand's 4.4 million inhabitants live here
  • It is divided along its length by the Southern Alps

FIJI, MELANESIA

  • It comprises an archipelago of more than 332 islands
  • Most of the islands were formed through volcanic activity starting around 150 million years ago
  • Has an abundance of forest, mineral and fish resources
  • The climate in Fiji is tropical marine and warm most of the year

MARSHALL ISLANDS, MICRONESIA

  • Has over 24 low-lying coral atolls
  • Holds the world's largest shark sanctuary
  • Has a population of 68,480 people
  • Their climate is hot and humid, with a wet season from May to November

HAWAII, POLYNESIA

  • Most recent of the 50 U.S. states
  • Its ocean coastline is approximately 750 miles long
  • It it has diverse natural scenery, warm tropical climate, oceanic surroundings, and active volcanoes
  • It is made up of 8 major islands, those are:
  • Niʻihau, Kauaʻi, Oʻahu, Molokaʻi, Lānaʻi, Kahoʻolawe, Maui and the island of Hawaiʻi.

JAVA

  • Is the world's most populous island
  • Formed mostly as the result of volcanic eruptions
  • Java has a diverse mixture of religious beliefs, ethnicities, and cultures
  • Goes from coastal forests on the north coast, to rocky coastal cliffs on the southern coast

TRANSANTARCTIC MTS, ANTARCTICA

  • Stretches across the continent
  • Divides East Antarctica and West Antarctica
  • It's summits and dry valleys are some of the few places in Antarctica not covered by ice
  • One of the longest mountain ranges on Earth
