SIGNALMENT

HISTORY

• Patchy alopecia
• Crusting on the head, ears, and neck
• Hair loss

PE FINDINGS

• Alopecia
• Superficial pyoderma
• Slightly Pruritic

LAB FINDINGS

• Lymphopenia
• Eosinopenia
• Proteinuria
• Diluted urine

DIAGNOSIS

• Microscopic examination of skin scrape
• You will see the adults
• Use mineral oil!

TREATMENT

• Ivermectin
• Antipruritic shampoo

OUTCOME

• Gets sent home with treatment
• Ivermectin for four weeks
• 100mcg/ kg 3days, 200mcg /kg 3days, 300mcg/kg 3 days
• Bring in for check up
• See if dosage needs to higher again
