  • Americans declare war after intersecting the Zimmerman telegram
  • The telegram was intersected in Mexico by the U.S

FEBRUARY 1,1917

  • Germany believed they could bring America into the war
  • They tried to bring America in the war by starving Britain into submission
  • Germany tried to do this in four to six months.

FROM FEBRUARY TO MARCH 31

  • Germany U-Boats sanked six American ships

APRIL 2, 1917

  • After the sinking ships Wilson asked congress to clear war on Germany
  • They declared war after the sinking ships

APRIL 6, 1917

WILSON SIGNED THE RESOLUTION AND AMERICA WAS AT WAR

JULY 4,1917

AMERICA GAINED THEIR FREEDOM AND FRANCE HELPED

MARCH 21,1918

  • Germans launched a massive attack along the western front
  • America was involved containing the German offensive

JULY 15

  • Germany launched one more massive attack to takeover Paris
  • But America and the French held there grounds

NOVEMBER 11,1918

  • The fighting finally stops
  • On the 11th day and the 11th month

JUNE 28,1919

  • The treaty of Versailles ends the war
