WHAT IS IT?
A rare congenital condition where a person has no pain sensation
The patient is unable to feel physical pain

HOW COMMON IS IT?
There has only been 40 cases have been reported in the scientific literature.
This condition is inherited in an autosomal recessive pattern
which means both copies of the gene in each cell have mutations.

HOW DOES A PERSON GET IT?
Caused by increased production of endorphins in the brain
Patients with such mutations are congenitally insensitive to pain and
lack of other neuropathies
