Through Clarisses passion for history, truth and books, Montag becomes intrigued. His interest is demonstrated when he continuously stares at the vent full of books, and steals a book from the woman who burned. It is becomes very prominent when Guy realizes Beatty has knowledge about books too. After this Montag wonders if there are others filled with the same curiosity and what can be done.
