John Carroll was the first American born bishop.
He wanted education to be the main focus of society.
John Carroll was America's connection to England.

WHY WAS THIS ORDER FOUNDED?
It was founded to spread knowledge of Christianity.
The Jesuits wanted to help others follow the teachings of Jesus.
They wanted all kids to get a good education.
They wanted education not only in their beliefs but in Math and English.

WHAT DID I FIND MOST INTERESTING ABOUT THE JESUITS
I Thought it was very interesting how much their belief is based on education
They are committed to education, and there are many colleges founded because of Jesuits
They have a strong focus on the teachings of Jesus.
The Jesuits also saw the importance of learning Math and English.
