LAKE CHAD

LOCATION

• Chad is near the border of Nigeria in western Chad.
• 90% of its water comes from the Chari River.
• The rest comes from Yobe and Niger Rivers

FACTS

• There is high evaporation in the area but the lake is still fresh water.
• Half of the lake is filled with tiny islands.
• The lake is only about 10.5 meters or 34 ft at it's deepest.
