  • Population of approximately 8000 with a LGA population of approx. 12000
  • Area of 68,571km2
  • Statistics show that Charters Towers has a population witn significant levels of disadvantage
  • CTLGA has an indigenous population of 8.2% compared with 3.3% for the rest of QLD

CHARTERS TOWERS NEIGHBOURHOOD CENTRE INC.

  • Incorporated in 1987
  • Started as a Housing Organisation
  • Tripled in size in the last 6 years with approx. 12 programs currently
  • Moved into purpose built facility in April 2009
  • Family Support, ERF, Community Housing, Disability Support, PACE etc.

  • PHaMs commenced in Nov 2009 & Carers Respite in March 2010
  • Currently supporting over 20 participants and delivering in excess of 200 hours per month
  • Monthly Mental Health Reference Group
  • Opportunity for further growth with PSS Program and HASP Packages
