PRESENTATION OUTLINE

THE RANSOM OF THE RED CHIEF

By: Piper Belden, Maddy Limbach, and Evan Jackson

SUMMARY
The setting takes place in Alabama on a flat town. There were two men named Bill Driscoll, and Sam. They decided that to earn two thousand dollars for a fraudulent real estate plan, they would do a kidnapping. The child that they selected was a freckle-faced boy of 10. He was an only child of a respectable, prominent citizen named Ebenezer Dorset. They took the child up to a cave, about two miles from Summit, in a mountain. The child was very energetic, and rambled on about many things; he had many questions. He ends up being called Red Chief, because he loved to play Black Scout; he wanted to stay in the mountain because he doesn't like it at home. Sam was called Snake Eye and Bill was called Old Hank.
