PRESENTATION OUTLINE

Effects of TEMPERATURE on Thymol

Introduction

  • Our question was does Thymol crystallize faster  at colder Temperatures

Untitled Slide

Hypothesis

  • That Lower Temperatures = Faster crystallization

Untitled Slide

Materials

  • Thymol, water, hot plate, beaker, thermometer,
  • microscope, slides, freezer, and a watch glass.

Untitled Slide

Procedure

  • melt the thymol
  • use eye dropper to place thymol on slide
  • record temperature of surrounding area
  • record length of time for thymol to crystalize

Resuults

Day One

  • Freezer: -10 degrees C, 22.62 sec
  • Room: 22 degrees C, 2:43 min

Day Two

  • Freezer: -10 degrees C, 24.6 sec
