CLAIM

LAWS WERE UNJUST FOR COLONISTS IN THE 1700S

This presentation will use evidence to show an aspect of colonial life using the work of Diane Hart (2005)from the textbook entitled History Alive;The United States of America Through Industrialism

Reason
The first reason is that the church was too tied up with the laws and the government.

Evidence
For example New England added laws to the list based on their understanding of Gods law in the bible.

REASON TWO

SOME PUNISHMENTS WERE A HORROR TO BE SENTENCED.

Some would be put into stocks in public places and some could be whipped or branded.

Some might argue that if colonist followed the rules they would be safe from punishment.

Refute of Counter Claim
However in 1691 incident neighbors of three girls were killed for witchcraft but were innocent and the three girls also caused twenty other trials towards witchcraft.

Conclusion
In conclusion, punishment was brutal for colonist in the 1700s
Because you cold be punished unjustly or put to death. So if you would like to stay alive don't go to the colonies you will not survive.
