In 1527 , Cabeza de Vaca was appointed second command of an expedition headed up be Panfilo II who wanted to claim the territory from Florida to Mexico for Spain.

MOTIVES

• Wanted to claim land for Spain

Route
He traveled to Florida but got separated from his ships. He and a few companions sailed to an island off of the Texas coast. Later he went back to Spain.

Accomplishments
Cabeza de Vaca found Texas and most of southwestern America.

Impacts
Because of his trip Cabeza de Vaca found important lands like Florida and Texas. Also one of his crew mates got kidnapped.
