Pla-zaow

  • Plaszow was built in December of 1942.
  • Plaszow was located in Krakow, Poland. 
  • Plaszow started as a camp for polish prisoners in 1940.
  • Plaszow was a slave labor Camp.
  • Prisoners were force to do factory work which was one of the good jobs.

  • More than 80,000 people were killed.
  • They were moved to Auschwitz-Birkenau and put in gas chambers.
  • Hungarians, Czechoslovakians, Frenchman, Belgians, and Romanians   
  • were all killed. 
  • Prisoners were mainly sent to gas chambers.

  • Body's were buried in mass graves.
  • The bodies were later dug up and burned.

  • Amon Goeth was the leader of Plaszow.  
  • Amon would sit from his porch and shoot Jews for fun.
  • After liberation the Nazis burned down most of the camp.
  • What remains of the camps buildings are now museums.  
  • Many of the people that survived Plaszow died of malnutrition.
