COURSE PARTICIPATION

Overall, I learned many things throughout this course. I learned the history of many historical figures and places. I learned many things about cathedrals and important people like St.Francis of Assisi and Martin Luther.

Some of the assignments were reasonable while others were not. The power points helped me learn the material rather than just reading over it in the book. My favorite assignments were the creative ones because that's what I'm good at.

Church History is an important part of being a Christian because it is important to understand where and how your religion came to be. It's good to know the facts so you can preach and spread the good word.

If there was one part of the course that would help me in my college career it would be…. how the teachers taught us. Our apple room is similar to a college room because there are a lot of students with one professor. If you aren't paying attention and following along with the lesson, you won't learn anything and it will be hard to catch along. The way our teachers taught prepared me for the future.

One teaching discussed in class I agree with is the indulgences. Indulgences came to be seen as a kind of magic antidote and in this atmosphere, indulgences were bought. The purpose of indulgences offer Christians a way to complete sacrament of penance for their sins instead of actually doing it. They began to be seen as something that was bought instead of earned. At first indulgences were acquired through pilgrimages. Later, they became things and you could buy from clergy members and church. After Luther's protest, the selling of indulgences declined and then they eventually stopped. I agree with this because this Christian began to cheat for it when you had to earn it.

ROLE IN GROUP

• I was the leader of my group. I told everyone what to do, how to do it, and I was in charge of putting everything together. Once everyone sent me their part, I had to revise everything and make sure their information was complete. I did the most work because I needed to make sure I kept my A I the class. I was always active in my group.

I am striving for an A in this project. I will work as hard as I can to receive a good grade. I will ask many questions and try to be as creative as I can. I will strive to do my best so I can hopefully exempt my final.

JOURNAL REFLECTION

HISTORICAL FIGURE TAKEAWAY

I have learned that my historical figure has many historical beliefs that brighten his future for the greater good. Also, I feel as if his historical beliefs affect my life through many concepts through readings. I can relate this person to many things in my life because of my faith. There was a certain time in my life were my faith was very minuscule and I couldn't really understand many of the meaning priest and pope's taught but I knew that I needed an easier explanation to understand. I was very contempt with myself as I wasn't able to seek my faith and understand it more. Then one day I was able to find my faith more understandable through St.Francis teachings. This really benefited my life because who knows what type of person I would've been today.
