Area of a rectangle: number of square units that it takes to fill a rectangle. Real world: tile floor.
Area of a parallelogram: it is twice the area of a triangle created by one of its diagonals. Real world: a painting.
Area of a triangle: number of square units it takes to completely fill a triangle. Real world: a ramp
Area of a trapezoid: number of square units it takes to completely fill a trapazoid. Real world: live trap.
Area of a rhombus: the number of square units it takes to fill a kite. Real world: a kite.
Radius:The distance from the center to the edge of a circle. real world: a wheel.
Diameter: a straight line passing from side to side through the center of a body or figure. Real world: side to side of a ball.
Apothem: The distance from the center of a regular polygon to the midpoint of a side
Area of a regular polygon: polygon that has all sides equal and all interior angles equal.
Minor arc: is an arc of a circle having measure less than or equal to radians.
Major arc: is an arc of a circle having measure greater than or equal to radians.
Circumfrence: The distance around the edge of a circle.
Arc length: The distance along the arc part of the circumference of a circle.
Area of a circle: The area of a circle is the number of square units inside that circle.
Area of a sector of a circle: A circular sector is the portion of a circle enclosed by two radii and an arc of the circle.
