👶THE EARLY YEARS👶

• Wilbur was born April 16, 1867
• Orville was born August 19, 1871
• Soon after Wilbur's birth, the wrights moved to Dayton, Ohio.
• Neither of them ended up going to college.

🚲THEIR CAREER🚲

• On march 1, 1889, Wilbur and Orville opened their newspaper called the west side news.
• In December of 1892, the Wright brothers opened up their by circle shop, which helped pay for their future experiments.
• In 1985, they started making their own bicycle models, such as the Van Cleve and the Wright special.

HARD WORK AT KITTY HAWK

• In 1900, they set up their camp in Kitty Hawk, SC.
• They tested many gliders and kites.
• Each glider increased in length of time and distance.
• They left in Oct. of that year and returned in 1902
• In 1902, they increased the size of the glider.

✈️SUCCESS IN 1903✈️

• In early 1903, the Wright brothers begin to build the engine and propellers.
• They use the 1902 model glider.
• On December 17Th, 1903, Orville flys the first ever heavier than air plane.
• The flight lasted 12 seconds and the distance was 120 feet.
• After the first flight, the wright brothers returned to Dayton, OH, to improve on newer models

• They influenced the production of airplanes.
• They showed everyone that there is such thing as a flying machine.
• They were very influential inventors of the 20th century.

• Airplanes now have many uses, ranging from cargo, to passenger, to military.
• Planes such as 747's are very large and can carry many passengers.
• Planes are a very convenient way to travel across the globe in a short time.

• Yesterday, December 17, marks the 110th anniversary of the first flight.
• In 1905, they built the fist airplane that could fly for more than half an hour
• In 1908 Orville wright made the first flight over one hour.
• They made the first military airplanes.

• When you're wearing a watch on an airplane, time flies.
• As soon as the airplane was invented, things were looking up.
• The pilot’s daughter snuck on to the plane without permission, so he had to ground her.
