In 1819 Colorado has achieved state hood,native hunters and travelers encountered a dust that stained all that had came in the storms way.
What had stained the mountains was a red powdery dust.
The red powdery dust was the residue of hematite witch is a type of iron ore.

In 1890 deposits of copper ore and gold where found on the side of the mountain.
The gold they found was a rock that had gold veins on the boundary of the rock.

They had a commercial of them finding it in the late 1860s.

They mined for gold on the side of the mountain in a cave.

The mountains are approximately 196 years to 193 old.
The day the mountains were discovered the people had no name for the mountain.

What they used for transportation was a wagon and a train.
If the people could not afford rides to the red mountain mining they would ask for a red.
