1. WHO WAS HE?

  • John Dalton was a scientist who discovered the Nature of atoms.
  • Born in 1766 in Cumberland, England he lived his life as a teacher
  • When he moved to Manchester he joined a Philosophical society
  • This is when he got his Laboratory where he performed his research

2. WHAT DID HE DISCOVER?

  • Dalton discovered the nature of atoms.
  • He discovered that everything is made up of atoms.
  • All atoms of the same element are identical.
  • Compounds are made up of different atoms.

3. HOW DID THEY MAKE THEIR DISCOVERY

  • John Dalton made his discovery in his lab in Manchester.
  • He used ordinary science equipment to make his discovery.
  • After moving to Manchester he had better equipment
  • He could do more experiments.
