CONDITIONS

• Wanted: more teachers, reduce class size, extend library facilities
• Wanted to learn because teachers didnt really teach them to read
• They had the lowest reading level
• They also had the lowest writing scores

ACTIONS

• 10,000 kids at 5 different schools walked out
• Activist students formed strike groups
• They created a committee

OBSTACLES

• Classrooms were over crowded
• Teachers didn't know what they were teaching
• The arrested 13 people
• Police were at protest

ACHIEVEMENTS

• First mobilizing of Chicano uprising in Los Angeles
• EICC was created
• Parents got a voice on education
• Goverment made school board provide bilingual eduacrion, improve testing programs and cu
