HELP WANTED: U.S. SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES

JOBS OF SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES. THERE ARE FIVE PARTS TO THE JOB:

• Making laws as a legislator.
• Representing your constituents ideas.
• Being a member of the committee.
• Serving your consituents.
• Acting as a politician.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR SENATORS

• Must be at leat 30 years old.
• Must be a U.S. citizen for at least nine years.
• Must live within the State that you are running for election in.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR REPRESENTATIVES

• Must be at least 25 years old.
• Must be a U.S. citizen for at least seven years.
• Must live within the State that you are running for election in.

HOW THEY ARE ELECTED
Senators are elected by the voters in their state while representatives are elected by voters in their district.

BENEFITS OF SENATORS AND REPRESENTATIVES

• These memebers of congress get tax deductions.
• Travel is already paid for.
• A very nice retirement plan.
• Stamps do not ned to be paid for.
• You have the power to represent your people.

WAYS TO GET FIRED

• Scandalous behavior
• Resign from office
• Caught doing illegal activity in congress
• Lose your seat to another candidate
• Change in requirements (ex. move out of state)
