Dear Uncle Thomas As you know my father, my mother and I moved to Georgia a few months ago, it's very nice here. The winters are not hard to survive, but the hot and humid summers can easily spread diseases.
You may ask how we got to Georgia. You see my father was good friends with James Oglethorpe, who founded Georgia in 1732. James also gave us the piece of land where my father's plantation is now on
My father arranged a plantation where he grew indigo, rice, and sugar. Other colonies payed my father to ship the crops to them. While my mother and I worked as a private teacher for other kids. My mother also taught me how to sew and cook.
As soon as our family had enough money we built a new home near my father's plantation. It was a gorgeous villa with a great view over the land that belonged to my father. We soon became a very wealthy family
Now you may ask why we moved to Georgia. Lots of people went to Georgia because there was religious freedom, there were many natural resources such as fish, forests(timber), and very good agriculture land.
William Stephens was named president while James focused on the colony's defense during the war with Spain. All of Georgia soon respected William. He was a very fair man.
