ULU

  • An ulu is a sharp-edged copper blade with an antler handle
  • It is used to cut, scrape, and clean animal hides

AWLS AND OTHER TOOLS

  • An awl has a long, thin needle with a large, round handle
  • The sharp point is used to make holes in the hide so the sinew can pass through
  • Copper needles are made of copper and are used for sewing
  • Sinew is tissue from a caribou's back, and is used as thread
