STROPHIC

• AAA form
• Comes from Greek "strophe" meaning "verse"
• One distinct musical theme
• Melody remains same, words change

BINARY

• AB form
• Two related sections, can be repeated (AABB)
• Often used in instrumental music
• Visually easy to see

TERNARY

• ABA form
• Similar to a sandwich!
• A begins, B is significantly different, A returns
• Found in dance forms like polka

RONDO

• Section A is repeated several times
• New sections presented between each A
• The altering sections called "episodes" and labeled B, C, D, etc.

POP (POPULAR MUSIC)

• Intro - beginning of song
• Verse - before chorus and after intro
• Chorus - main melody, usually contains the title, part everyone knows
• Bridge - doesn't sound like anything else, can be instrumental solo or rap break
• Outro - end of song, can fade away
