MOBILE/CLOUD CAPTURE

  • Customer uses mobile app w/ prebuilt form to send coordinates/UID/#lights
  • Mailer w/download URL, credentials, URL for basic video/html instructions
  • Incentive is bill rebate ($10-$20 range)
  • UID will allow for tabular data joins, mapping for spatial data joins
  • Data is stored in secure cloud account

NEEDS

  • Link existing data in db's by location/UID
  • Address, original sale/date/cost/type of lights/etc
  • Customer captured will be transferred through cloud, all else linked locally
  • Output will be spatial database, can be analyzed or used as tabular data
  • Operations dashboard for mgmt

COST

  • Budget: $250,000
  • $150,000 in pilot rebates for 10,000 customers at $15
  • $50-70 K for system/software/accounts
  • $30-$50 K remaining
  • Incentive for customer is monetary rebate

FUTURE

  • Duke tech performs capture of each individual light fixture/data at install
  • Existing are flagged for "check" when repair/service is made by technician
  • Full analysis capabilities to benefit marketing initiatives, cost savings for resources

CONCERNS

  • Quality check : customer capture via service technicians/data check
  • Cost of rebates vs. number of customers, alternatives?
  • Commercial customers with multiple locations/one bill address
  • Response rate and methods to "follow-up" with customers
  • Single adress location capture vs. Individual fixture capture
