  • 800,000 people are trafficked internationally every year
  • 14,000-17,000 foreign nationals are trafficked into the U.S. every year
  • 50% of victims are children
  • 80% of victims are female

  • 244,000-325,000 American children and youth are at risk for sexual exploitation and trafficking every year

Human Trafficking Victim's rights Act

  • Victims will no longer be charged as criminals
  • Law enforcement is allowed to take a victim into protective custody
  • All property connected with human trafficking will be seized
  • Creates a human trafficking victims fund in order to aid services that provide for victims
