BOSTON MASSACRE 1770

  • ON MARCH 5 1770 5 COLONISTS WERE KILLED BY BRITISH TROOPS.
  • It started when colonists threw ice chunks, snow balls, and called them names.
  • The troops at the time were guarding the custom house on king street.
  • Some solders thought they heard fire when others thought they heard do not fire.

THE BOSTON TEA PARTY 1773

  • On the evening of December 16 90,000 pounds was dumped in the harbor.
  • Over 50 individual dressed up as Indians and snuck on to a ship that was full of tea.
  • Those 50 individual where called the sons of liberty
  • The colonist refused to buy tea from the East Indian tea company

THE INTOLERABLE ACTS

  • In September 1774 12 men had an important meeting
  • The colonist were all mad at Britain for their new laws.
  • The new laws were a punishment to the colonists for dumping the tea.
  • Britain blocked the Boston harbor from the colonists
  • The colonists responded in outrage
