• Ontario Secondary School Diploma (OSSD)
• Grade 12 English (ENG4C or ENG4U)
• Three Grade 11 or Grade 12 courses
• An average of 80% in each class
• Passion for photography

Internship: 1 semester

CAREER DESCRIPTION

Photographers create images that tell stories or record events.

They either use traditional cameras that record images on film, or digital cameras that electronically record images.

• Decide what types of cameras to use
• Choose what angles to shoot from
• May set up lights and backdrops
• While shooting, adjust camera settings
• Use computers to fix and alter images

JOB AVAILABILITY

The few job opportunities available will be for people who hold a diploma, and especially a diploma of collegial studies in photography. Other jobs will be filled by experienced photographers who are unemployed or by self-taught photographers.
