Here are 4 different topologies:
i. Bus;

ii. Star;

iii. Ring;

iv. Mesh.

The bus topology is the most ordinary topology ,where each computer and network device are connected to a single cable or backbone.

Advantages:
i. using less cable
ii. it is easy to set-up and extend bus network;
iii. linear Bus network is mostly used in small networks. Good for LAN.
