• You are 23X more likely to crash
• 13% of drivers age 18-20 involved in car wrecks admit to D.W.T

• 77% of young adults are very confident they can safely text and drive
• 1 in 5 drivers admit to surfing the web while driving
• Its like drinking 4 beers and then driving your car
• Number 1 driving distraction

How about the fatalities?

Worldwide- Most recent is in 2011

2010 had 479 crashes
2011 had 464 crashes

*There is a small decrease
•11 teens die EVERYDAY

Worldwide- Injuries

In the most recent statistics it shows that there are 330,000 injuries due to texting and driving per year

Texting while driving is nearly 25% of ALL car accidents

So what about Wisconsin?

In 2010 there were a total of 3 fatalities in D.W.T

In 2011 there were a total of 4 fatalities in D.W.T

This does happen in real life!
