JULIUS CAESAR

Caesar was born in 100 B.C. into a patrician family. He was the nephew of a famous Roman General, General Marius.

Caesar ran for Counsel in 60 B.C. and won. He made a deal with two other roman officials, Pompey the Great and Crassus. They became known as the "Triumvirate" In 44 B.C. Caesar made himself the permanent Dictator of Rome.

Caesar took over all of Gaul and made it part of the Roman Empire. Caesar is known as one of the World's Greatest Military leaders.

Julius Caesar invented the calendar we still use today. This calendar in based off of the birth of Christ.
